Middle Life is a film shot entirely in the world of Second Life, a popular 3D online virtual world. It falls within the category of Machinima (machine + cinema), a form of film making made popular with the ability to capture the screen while playing video games. With no script in hand, Nupur documents her journey in Second Life, a space where she meets people from all over the world. She records her experiences and meetings almost through the eyes of a tourist in this new age world and has strung together disjointed experiences and scenes to form a lose narrative. Nupur uses Spray Oceanlane, her avatar, to comment and challenge ideas of beauty, consumerism, notions of control and power.
